S-link Upgrade tool kit

Upgrade tool adapter kit USB-USB2CAN for the S-link programmer software.

  • What does the LED status on USB2CAN mean?

    USB2CAN

    Korlan USB2CAN

    LED status lights on the USB2CAN tool.

    1. RED & GREEN steady - Bootloader mode
      This is the state when you can upgrade the firmware inside the USB2CAN device.
      There is a special procedure to get to this state.

    2. RED & Green toggling - PC USB driver is not loaded
      This means that the computer does not have installed any driver for the USB2CAN.
      The S-link Programmer is not installed. Installing S-link Programmer installs USB2CAN driver.

    3. RED steady - Converter is closed
      Device is powered on, computer drivers are initiated with no errors, CAN interface disabled.
      S-link Programmer is not running or disconnected.

    4. GREEN steady - Converter is open
      CAN interface enabled, device is ready to receive or send data.
      S-link Programmer is running and connected.

    5. GREEN blinking slow - CAN bus warning
      CAN bus warning - one or both of the transmit/receive error counters exceed 96.

    6. GREEN blinking fast - CAN bus error passive
      CAN bus error passive - error is greater than 127. The counter is incremented when an error occurs while sending or receiving data packet and decremented on every successful sent or received data packet.

    7. RED blinking slow - CAN bus off
      CAN bus OFF error - transmit error counter of a CAN controller exceeds 255.

    1. Only Power LED on - Device powered on.

    2. Info LED on, Error LED off - There is no driver detected at host device.
      This means that the computer does not have installed any driver for the Korlan USB2CAN.
      The S-link Programmer is not installed. Installing S-link Programmer installs Korlan USB2CAN driver.

    3. Error LED on, Info LED off - CAN interface is not enabled on a host device.
      Computer drivers are initiated with no errors, CAN interface disabled.
      S-link Programmer is not running or disconnected.

    4. Info and Error LED on - CAN interface enabled, device is ready to receive or send data.
      S-link Programmer is running and connected.

    5. Error and Info LED blinking - CAN send/ receive data.
      Korlan USB2CAN detects error when sending and/or receiving data on the bus.
